Chris Gates and Gatesville

Chris Gates has been rockin’ since the seventies with variety of bands and different genres from punk rock of Big Boys to metal of Junkyard. He has a massive back catalogue of music but hasn’t led his own band until putting together Chris Gates and Gatesville.

Chris Gates and Gatesville had its beginning when Chris hooked up with guitarist Tony Redman. After few months of writing songs and recording them, band had enough material for self-released debut album, Ain’t It Grand which came out in 2008.

Chris isn’t the only member with metal past since ex-Juggernaut bassist Scott Womack replaced original bass player Bobby Daniel, who left to join Alejandro Escovedo’s band. With addition of drummer Paul Soliz it seems like the band has found a permanent line-up.

Their latest album Welcome to Gatesville was recorded in Dripping Springs studios on January 2010 by Sean Rolie and came out in September 2010. Welcome to Gatesville also features former Santana and Journey member and Sean’s father, Gregg Rolie on keyboards. Don’t forget to check our review of Welcome to Gatesville album.
