The Cheaters

The Cheaters, Whiskey-Fueled, Home-Fried Rock and Roll band was formed in Baltimore, Maryland in 2005 and they have quickly grown from playing bars to rocking arenas in such places as Japan and Europe while releasing two excellent albums on the process.

Kevin, Brett, and Dave met while playing in other bands, and cutting their teeth in the Baltimore music scene. Along the way, they crossed paths with Jason Morton, while playing a show at Salisbury University. Now days, Jason Morton is on lead vocals and guitar, Kevin Shook plays the drums, Brett Wilmer is on lead guitar and Dave Wolf handles the bass.

The Cheaters have successfully managed to transfer their live energy onto recording. “The Cheaters L.P.” was recorded in the Spring of 2006 with Frank Marchand at Waterford Digital Studios, and showcases song writing from all four members of the band. On the most recent album, the band continued their collaboration with Marchand and “Midnight Run” came out in 2009. Be sure to check out our review of Midnight Run.

In the past The Cheaters has kept themselves busy on the road, playing well over 100 gigs a year, opening for bands like Shooter Jennings, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd, and by looking at their up`n coming shows, they seem keep the same pace this year. Do yourself a favor and check them live when The Cheaters are playing nearby, you won’t be disappointed.
