The Dirty Guv´nahs - We´ll Be The Light
The Dirty Guv’nahs was formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2007 and they have been spreading their soulful Southern rock ever since. With one album already released and new one coming out later this year, The Dirty Guv'nahs are on their way to become one of the most promising new Southern rock bands out there.
Named after a local eccentric at their debut live performance, The dirty Guv´nahs, after rocking the local bar scene at their native Knoxville, have quickly moved onto bigger venues all over the South-eastern states.
After winning local battle of the bands, they were awarded with some studio time, which resulted into now out of print debut EP, Don't Need No Money. After that, things started moving fast: The Dirty Guv´nahs have been voted for as the best band in Knoxville for two years in the row and they have been building a wider presence all over the Southern states.
In beginning of 2009 the band entered to the Chase Park Transduction studio, in Athens and spend five days recording a follow up to their 2007 debut EP with Drive-by Truckers producer David Barbe. 2009 turned out to be a busy one for The Dirty Guv´nahs, as they got inveted to the Bonnaroo music festival as well as Bele Chere Festival and played countless gigs on their own.
The band just got back from Woodstock, New York, where they were working on their sophomore effort in the Levon Helm studios. The new album will be out later this year things are looking good for The Dirty Guv´nahs, and hopefully they’ll reach the new audience they deserve.
